Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. David Cameron will give details of the review at 1530 BST. Nine Nimrod planes due to be based at RAF Kinloss have been cancelled, the BBC understands.

Defence sources told the BBC that the MRA4 reconnaissance planes will not go ahead.

BBC Scotland correspondent James Cook said it had come as a big blow for the base - which employs 1,500 people and would now close. The future of nearby RAF Lossiemouth remains uncertain.
  2. Good thing we've still got all those FFs to bridge the capability gap.
  3. ....and Merlin completely up to speed with ASW ops.....
  4. Well DC did give the impression later in the debate on BBC Parliment that the returning pongos from Germany could be billeted at redundant RAF bases. Like the Royal Artillery who left Woolwich Barracks and moved to RAF North Luffenham just off the A1.
  5. Great on a Sat night in Stamford watching the RedCaps chucking them into back of wagons!!! Idiots! :D
  6. I was detatched to 16 Regt RA and based there the other year. We (Sailors) had great fun up watching the army fighting amongest their own. What fools.
