Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Ok heres the sit-rep. Former Pongo, 35, pft of under 10mins, 70 push up 65 sit ups.

Applying to join up as a comms spec. IS 35 to old go through basic training? I know I met the criteria but am I kidding myself? CONSTRICTIVE comments please.

Squeezing through INT will be a breeze for you if you can cope with sprogs.

I agree very much with ExJenny. Training won't be an issue in itself, messing with teenagers might be. I know it would wind me up to ****.

  8. Just left INT as an Instructor. Last class I had 34 Yr Old and he was ok with it. Stand by to be Class Leader with your experience but you should breeze through. Just Discipline is what gets people caught out.

  10. With the waiting times are you likely to make the age cut off?

  11. No doubt it will get on my nerves, but is it worth it?

You need to get a wriggle on with application if you think it's worth it. You might be fit but your running out of time for the RN.

Other seagoing comms jobs are available though...
