Joining with financial problems.

Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Would the reserves allow you to join with financial difficulties, say in an iva or debt management plan?

The Reserves probably wouldn't give a monkeys but if you have unresolved CCJs, unaddressed defaulted payments to creditors or are an undischarged bankrupt, you could not gain security clearance.

A lot of people joining the reserves appear to pay little heed to their gaining security clearance (or passing a PJFT for that matter) as they are often given a uniform, ID card and are in receipt of pay before it is gained, so they may mistakenly think "I'm in"... snag is, no SC = discharge, regardless of "time served".
