New to the site.....quick question if i may.

Upon joining the RN can you be drafted anywhere....ie Can you be drafted to a Submarine even if you would rather a surface vessel?

Sorry if this is obvious to all but I have had conflicting reports recently.

Cheers

There are a lot of small confined spaces on all RN vessels not just Boats so I don't see that claustrophobia would be a reason for you not to serve in the Submarine Service any more than any other ship bourne branch

Having been on both there's no way I could do the submarine but the ships are fine....Is this likely to be a stumbling block?

Tell them you suffer from severe flatulence! It would be an explosive gas hazard in a confined space then. Alternately have a sex change - as no women are yet allowed to sleep beneath the waves...
