  1. Hi everyone

I'm thinking about joining up. I currently work as a hydrographic surveyor, a droggy i think you call them in the navy. Ex-RN guys i work with have told me you need to be under 26 if you want to join as an officer......is this right? I'm 25, is this stritcly enforced if you want to become a specialist?

And my qualifications are practically the same as an officer who'd done the advanced course at the hydrographic school in HMS Drake.

On another note, if i joined the RNR does anyone know if i'd be able to serve as a hydrographic surveyor either on a part-time or FTRS basis?

    Any ideas anyone.......?

    Cheers
