  1. Dear friends, I am currently translating into Russian the travels of a British surgeon "A Voyage of Barracouta to Japan, Kamchatka, Siberia, Tartary... in H.M.S. Barracouta". 1859. The book contains some names of the British officers which I need to identify. Could you help me find short bio data on some masters and surgeons who were in the Pacific during the Crimean War? They were probably on board Barracouta or Pique. Or could you advise where to write? I think that people overhere in the Russian Far East, in Vladivostok particularly, must know who discovered this land in the 19th century^
