It's going to snow apparently.

Met Office says it's going to snow.

Here we go again. What is it with the Met Office? Slightest bit of bad weather and they predict all manner of disaster and mayhem. Tonight they're predicting 'heavy snowfall'. It might even reach upto 15cm in parts of Wales.

15cm! Blimey, that's nearly six whole inches in old money.

London will get about 2cm. Less than an inch. Nevertheless, it'll be on the news tomorrow about 'treacherous' driving conditions.

Why do the Met Office always err on the side of caution so much it's laughable? 'Severe weather warnings' when it might get up to a F6. Flood warnings when we get half an inch of rain.

Oh well, perhaps they've got it right this time.

I don't know how you and Morsey cope with such low temperatures....

The bad news here is that it's snowing heavily to the north of me.

The good news is that I am at home in Florida, it's 78*F with clear blue skies and the snowfall to the north is 1000 miles away...

Shakey from my limited experience of living in the south 6 inches will cause total chaos, the inch or so for London will equally cause a complete traffic snarl up. In an earlier lif I used to commute into Greenford from the M4 at Thiefrow, and the normal 30 minutes became 2 hours plus if there was more than a dusting of snow. ^ inches change the normal couple of hours to Weymouth into 11 hours.

Have fun cold sunny and dry up here.

Bloody hell, I hope not but then with the crazy world weather these days you never know. In december they had frost on the top of the highest peak here in ChiangMai and it was reported on the news, they had people taking phots of it and taking great delight in seeing their own breath.
Bless em, but I spent too many watches on the gangway losing the will to live during the morning watch in Jockland waiting for some laughing boy from FOST to come and fill my breakfast and warming up hour with a fire or bomb. Those freezing watches were not so many years ago that I have forgotten how much I hate the cold......brrrrrrr Better turn the A/C down a bit

You lot too? My local Met Office reckons an accumulation of about 2cm overnight with the chance of flurries today and tomorrow; couple this with low temperatures (tomorrows high is predicted as -11 deg) and you have a recipe for a total non-event :)

Just off to look into the logisitics of replacing my UK motorcycle with toys more suited to Canada'a climate... ski-doo for next winter and boat for the summer.

Im not worried, each time the Met Office say this we get bugger all,if they had said we were expecting a heatwave then id be worried!

Nutty reminds us where he lives as often as AAC reminds us through cheeky double entendres, that he is gay............that is, AAC is gay!.

Snow and Harry icers won't stop the quarterwits going out on the lash in T shirts. May they skip hospital and go straight to the mortuary.

This turned into Quarterdeck fodder before I got here.
