Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has rejected demands to increase the defence budget for 2007. Following a meeting with the Defence Minister he rejected the demands to increase the base budget for the year by 1.85 billion NIS (about 420 million U.S. dollars) and to expedite to under three years the transfer of 8.2 billion NIS ( about 1.8 billion U.S. dollars), the IDF was promised for restoring its arsenal to pre-war levels.
Looks like Mr Olmert is not that pleased with the army.
