Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. I was talking to an ex Pongoe chum the other day and he was telling me about his best mate, ex school chum etc who was a chef on the Sheffield when she was hit in the Falklands campaign. Anyway this guy was killed on the Sheffield as he was in the galley as the exocet ripped thru the starboard side thru the galley and down into the engine room.
Now he, this pongoe chum, told me that his chum never or I should say his family never received the Falklands medal as a posthumous award.
    Is this true?
That any one killed during operation Corporate (Falkland conflict) never got a medal?
    How shameful is that?
