Is there another eye test at the medical?

  1. I am awaiting my medical date and was wondering since Ive already completed an eye test at the opticians and handed in the results, will I have to do a 2nd eye test at the medical? If so, is it any different to the usual test the standard opticians do? In other words is it more of a health check or the usual read letter from the board? or both?
  2. No, the eye test at your opticians will suffice. The medical consists of the ear test, a cover one eye and tell me what letter it says, etc. Good luck

The AFCO medical examiner may wish to verify the results if there is any ambiguity. Sometimes the opticians grade it incorrectly.

You will also conduct a colour perception eye test and need to demonstrate you can close your left eye whilst keeping the right open.
