  6. If you want it you can have a cooked breakfast every day followed but a stodgy meal for lunch and another stodgy meal (plus a stodgy pudding with custard) in the evening. However, if you want to be healthier you can have cereal and fruit for breakfast, salad for lunch and then heap as much veg onto your plate for dinner.

  9. However you soon get used to cutting the fried bread without sending to the four corners of the galley.

Pour beans on top to soften it.

There is a wide range of food available at each mealtime and very often whilst undergoing the rigours of training, the task is to take-on sufficient calories at each sitting.

Rest assured every person in the Royal Navy & Royal Marines considers themself a qualified food critic and seldom does a Chef receive a compliment. This is more to do with the fact that mealtimes are a break from routine and servicepersonnel are only happy when they are moaning like ten.

Are there healthy choices? Yes. Do people always go for the healthy option? Not always - do you go for a healthy option every time when eating-out? Probably not.

  11. Do they have an omelette bar? the one at Daedalus was the mutts nuts, you had to get in the galley early or the queue was out the door.

Yep Raleigh has an omelette counter, no that is not a person who counts omelettes Alexis, in the JR/civilians galley.
