Is promotion quicker in the submarine service?

Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. I was speaking to a leading hand on my RNAC course and she said that if she was a guy she would of joined the submarine service as the promotion is alot quicker

    Is this true?
  2. Knowing as many 2 and 3 badge AB submariners as i do i would say its actually slower promotion but then i spose its branch dependant just like the surface fleet.
  3. Tosh Tell her she's talking out of one of the orifices between her legs!!
  4. Just a thought, but because the submarine fleet is smaller in terms of man-power, wouldn't that mean that the need for faster promotion would be slower?

    Did that even make sense?
  5.  Are you any relation to TIM
  6. The carreers dvd even amits its slower.
  7. This is closest to the truth. You only promote what you need. It is up to the individual to outshine those others that are vying for the same promotion opportunities. In other words, promotion won't find you, you have to chase it.

  8. Depends on how much c*ck you're willing to swallow and how many rings you're up for tongue dhobeying to get it. Never did me any harm...I made Chief!
  9. It'll be a lot quicker when all boats move to Faslane and there's a mass stampede for the dockyard gate!!!
  10. Not quicker just deeper!!!
