Invitation to the Service of Remembrance in Blyth 1/11/09

Once again it is approaching the time of year when some of the declining number of surviving submariners get together for their Service of Remambrance.

Once again, this annual event will be taking place at the TipToe Memorial, west of the Market Square in Blyth town centre.

Everyone will be made welcome, and there is even the chance of a good wet afterwards.

There may be transport available from HMNB Clyde, although it has not been confirmed.

We look forward to seeing as many of you there that can make it.

OSD

(Note to Mods - could you please make this 'sticky' until the end of October?)

Re: Invitation to the Service of Remembrance in Blyth 1/11/0

Due to the recent cuts, will there be any past or serving Submariners at the Service of Remembrain Blyth on 1st November?

The veterans are declining in numbers, and could do with some support.

I look forward to seeing you ... if you can make it!

Thanks for the invite, oldseadog.

You did us proud last year, but we cannot make this year.

Well done to JJ and yourselves to for your persistence in in the naming of 'Elfin Square'.

Pete.

Thanks for that Pete,

We are proud to say that the MSTS will be there to provide the Honour Guard for the Standards, and to welcome everyone with sippers.

I hope that Lord Ridley will be there, as he said last year that he's not getting any younger. To which I responded that he will be there, and that wasn't a request, and if for any reason he does not make it, he will have me to answer to! A wonderful man indeed.

I am sure that you would not mind if your best wishes will be passed on to those assembled.

See you maybe next year?

OSD,

Remiss of me not to mention His Lordship, MSTS and all others involved last year.

Certainly, please pass on our best wishes to ALL concerned.

We shall certainly consider next year.

Up Spirits !

Pete.
