Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. BBC 4 Tonight (Saturday 3rd Oct) 2230

Time for tin of Red Death
  2. Will be watching it - as you say, classic. Bernard Miles having a singsong of his own in the Palace - magic.
  3. I watched in the hope that HMS Torrin wouldn't be sunk this time but she was. Mind you, I had forgotten that Cdr(E) was played by Ballard Berkeley (the Major in 'Fawlty Towers') and that Freda's baby was played by John Mills' real daughter, Juliet.
  4. Aye she got sunk again, hopefully next time or maybe if she was made again but in HD that may help
  5. I loved the Major in Fawlty Towers- Fawlteeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
  6. Bloody hell missed it , shame .

This was shown to us our first week at Dartmouth. The Chief GI there in those days (of course the first one of his type we had met) was a fifth-fiver who had been torpedoed twice. Subliminal msg, 'if you can't take a joke you shouldn't have signed on'.
