The heart of the site is the forum area, including:
Navy News - on the current deployments / ops map inside the front cover what does IMAT stand for ?
Independant Maritime Analysis Team IIRC
Is it not something like Iraqi Maritime Advisory Team?
Not my part of ship but probably a typo or a rebranding of ITAM (Iraqi Training and Advisory Mission.)
That would make more sense.. Navy News last month and current month have it in as "IMAT" no wonder I couldn't find it on rn.mod.uk or google
I should point out my answer was entirely from Google, and absolutely no previous knowledge etc.

Thanks for clearing that up Danny. Until you broke cover, I thought you were a Royal Marines Colonel lurking with a bit of spare time on his hands telling it how it is. FFS, I nearly typed 'Sir'.
You are forgiven, the facade is enough to fool all but the most pompous of forum trolls.
