Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

  2. Apart from a brief period embarked in HMS London in 1991, I have never served in a Type 22 but I remember some good parties. Such sad pictures.
  3. The recycling figures are good though - in virtually every category they have pulled out more than they expected.

Mind you, this is MoD so maybe it was under-inflated deliberately so it justified the decision later . . .

    Cynic - moi? :p
  4. Couldn't agree more. The recycled figure of 96% is fantastic, however I do really hope that MoD looks more closely at future vessels up for disposal to make sure they do get the best value for them rather than almost giving them away.
  5. Sad sights, always looks like such an undignified ending for a warship. A good old SINKEX is a more fitting fate I think. I've just realised that every ship and boat I've ever served in to date (Including RFA's) are now either razor blades or turned foreign.
  6. Very true EQG, very true. :-(
