Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Yank Guppy similar to USS Requin. Pre 1966 after that deck mounted sonars were fitted to some.

I was thinking USS Nautalis SSN

  3. Never at Dolphin. stands to be corrected.
    Hull not quiet right

  4. I don't think it's the Nautilus, you can't see the foreplanes in that phot. It might be the USS Albacore which was an experimental SSK with the tear drop casing. The yanks made a couple of similar SSK's to refine the shape.

  5. 572 USS SAILFISH

    launched 8/09/1955
    commisioned 14/4/1956

  6. Sailfish was in the UK in 62

  7. Superb chaps (pun intended!!) Thanks a lot! I was just curious as it obviously wasn't one of ours.
