Hydrographics Rating

Hi

Does anyone know how long the current waiting time is for hydrographic and meteorologist specialist?

My AFCO says 9 months but I’m seeing threads saying 2-3 years? Just looking for some clarity

The recruiters say 9 months so you ask an UNOFFICIAL forum for a time frame!

This site just keeps me going.

Please, listen to your recruiters, they have the updated info, we have well intentioned members who we may never have seen and will probably never meet.

Dunno, but you've chosen a good branch. I was on a survey ship for 2 years and learned a lot about what droggies do (and don't do)......seemed to me at the time that they do a rewarding job in exotic parts of the world. During those 2 years we spent hardly any time in UK waters and my tropical kit took a hammering.
Good luck, you're heading for a good job, regardless of how long you have to wait to join.

That’s really good to hear, thankyou. Going to all sorts of climates was the main reason I went for Hydrographics and the work they do sounds super cool.

I’ve passed my medical and have my PJFT on Friday so I’m just really excited to get going!
