Hydographic Office Visit?

I recently failed my FATs to become a Pilot. My second choice has always been becoming a Hydrographic Officer but I would like to see what the day to day work is like before signing up. Does anyone know if there is a chance to visit the Hydrographic Office for a couple of days to see/if anyone already works there can they tell me a bit about it. Otherwise I'll just wait a year and do my FATs again!

Wow, there's commitment for you. I think you'll need a tad more enthusiasm and drive if you're ever to stand a hope of passing the course (if successful in the FATs).

You realise that RN HM Officers don't work at the Hydrographic Office right? Confused as to why you'd want to visit there rather than an survey ship where you'll spend your career?
