Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. I have undertaken trials of various bits of underwater kit in the amazing Ocean Tank at Haslar on several occasions.

More poignantly, Lt Edward Archibald Templeton WRIGHT RM of the Boom Patrol Detachment (cover name for the 'Cockleshell Heroes') died in it while undergoing 'Sleeping Beauty' MSC (Motor Submersible Canoe) training in underwater breathing apparatus on 28 Jan 1944. He is buried in nearby Haslar Royal Naval Cemetery.
