Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. I assume that is the snort mast, do they have to surface do that every time.

  2. How to fix a submarine,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Depthcharge?
  3. Somebody should have told the Chief Stoker to lubricate the bearings and gears at the bottom of the fin. I remember a dose of salt water for at least twenty four hours from a shore side hose was the norm?
I've also seen the duty fwd clanky jumping up and down on top of the mast to induce movement....didn't work though.....he was such a delicate, light little stoker. A DLL Stoker - yep, until he bulked up with oggies n zider. He became a right old porker!
  4. If he had pre-wetting on then im sure that wouldnt have happened.

It was the Diesel Exhaust he was trying to get down. I do hope the Fwd staff had removed the Hydraulic isolations before they tried lowering it :)
  5. How to fix a submarine, bodge tape and araldite?
  6. Maybe he was trying to signal the black afties to start a diesel
    geoff(ers) :nemo:
