  1. I've Just started my application process, although I think I may have started a bit sooner than I should have.
I have my Recruit test on May 18th and I'm wondering, how long did it take for you guys to complete the process and start basic training?
I know it probably depends what you want to train as. I am hoping to train as a chef.
  2. i started the process in april 2011 and ive done all that needs to be done just waiting on a date for raleigh(january 2013) hopefully, good luck.....going in as a mine warfare specialist aswell
  3. I applied as a chef on April 7 2010. I start in July this year! It's about 27 month wait mate. Well it was when I applied
  4. I applied for Warfare specialist (TSM) back in June 2010, and still waiting for a date.
Was told that when my CA phoned the allocator up that I'm 11th in the queue. And have a place for Jan intake. Hopefully things haven't changed much! Just waiting for an official date!

  11. Hi there i am wanting to apply for service i understand that the navy are recruiting for branches at the moment but my civvy job is going down the drain, was wondering what navy jobs have short or no waiting list or which jobs will be in high demand in the next few months with thanks. (including subs, surface and rfa)
  12. Ask your AFCO about the STC branch. They are always keen to have young thrusters among their group.
  13. what is the STC branch?

Yep, every sympathy is afforded. Fortunately we don't make people re-take GCSE's, A Levels & degrees.
  17. For a chef you can expect to wait around 18 months. If you want to get in quicker try Steward or Marine Engineering on S/MsOr ask your local careers office for up to date information. As people have already said it's an ever changing picture.SM
