How long until he gets a date?

Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Have any ETWE surface that applied in October 2009 been given a Raleigh start date. My boys is waiting and would love to be able to tell him "Not Long now son" :-D
  2. Hi Navyboy'smum.

    Firstly welcome to the site.

    Check this thread out.

  3. I find that charm, wit, personality and the promise of half a lager and a kebab helps me get a date.
  4. I sat my RT in September 2009 and i got my entry date for January 2012. Your son should not be too far off :)

For technical trades, the higher the score, the higher the likelihood of earlier selection.

Whilst we don't use performance based selection for ratings in the same manner a better AIB score allows a selection of the best (Yeah, I sometimes wonder about that one too), for Technicians the bulk of each intake is made-up from the higher scores, with about 25% of each intake made-up from the lower scoring passes.
  6. Play nicely - it's the best of who applies, not the best of who's alive in the eligible age bracket - some of those occifers you've had inflicted on you in the last couple of decades (who were a danger to themselves and those round them) really were the lesser of 2 evils....

  8. Thanks everyone for replying, just to let you know he got his date Yesterday, for 29th January, he is stoked. One happy boy :)
  9. Good News for him and hopefully you

  10. That's fab news Navyboy'smum! I'm going on January 15th so will probably see him around!

It's also my birthday whilst I'm there (24! I get the feeling I'm going to be one of the oldest ones there!). Am counting down the days now until I set off, can't come quick enough :)
  11. Josh is going to be 21, so not too young! He will be signing up to Rum Ration soon, he doesn't have broadband where he is living at the moment, but sure he will chat to you all and find out who will be there with him when he starts. I told him 7 months is gonna fly by. He can't wait. :)
  12. ahh that's good to know! I'm literally counting down the days until I go (130 working days!) lol. We might be on our RNAC together as it's compulsory now! Where abouts do you live? I'll be going to HMS Collingwood for it, just waiting for a date for it now! Also have to do my fitness test again next week as it's expired. Nearly there though :)
  13. When i get in i'll be 28, feel really old as most of the other people i spoke to are 18 to 21, so i'm gonna feel like a pensioner :/

Aww well i don't give a monkeys, i'll have to show these youngins a thing or two :)
  14. We are Buckinghamshire, Yeah he has been told RNAC will be around September or after, and will be HMS Collingwood, I guess. He says he will put stuff on Navy Recruitment page on facebook, try and get to know some people before he starts.
  15. Erm, Raleigh first then Collingwood.
  16. She mean's for the RNAC which is now compulsory :)
  17. My bad, apologies.
  18. He'll be going through HMS Raleigh and HMS Collingwood with me then. :p

If the Harbour lights (fights) is still up and running he should get a cheap date in there.
  20. Fighting them off with a stick more like. Durty hoors I think Navyboysmum should escort him to Raleigh and Collingwood to prevent him having to spend time at Rose Cottage.
