He didn't actually time it but my son's telephone interview (AET) a few months ago took roughly 20 minutes.I have my interview tomorrow via phone due to Covid. This is just my selection interview to see whether I’m a suitable person or not but I was just wondering how long it roughy takes?
Bit late like but what @Supportive Dad said. You’re looking at about 20-30mins. Mine was about half an hour, told me I’d passed more or less immediately after. I’ve heard some people finish the call and then get another call telling them the results, just to keep them on edge. Don’t sweat it, it’s cake really! Bit of background knowledge of the Navy and your intended role and the rest is just personal questions. The interviewer will more than likely put you at ease.I have my interview tomorrow via phone due to Covid. Why, are you thinking of emigrating from the States to join our navy?Yeah, I'd like to know more too
I’ve just had my interview and mine lasted 1 hour 30 mins. Not sure why mine was so long but there we goYeah, I'd like to know more too
And? Did you pass? You applying as a rating or an officer? I’d imagine the interviews last a fair bit longer for officers.I’ve just had my interview and mine lasted 1 hour 30 mins. Not sure why mine was so long but there we go
Waiting for a call back. Honestly don’t think it did great. All the questions I got told I’d be asked I never but instead I got asked more complex questions. I’m applying as a marine engineer. And? My careers officer told me the questions I would be asked along with research of the interview process and asking people who are already in the RNOut of curiosity then, who told you what questions you should expect?
ETA - remember to protect PERSEC so no actual names please.
I have been deferred for 3 months due to my fitness and lack of experience in an engineering role. I’be been advised to look at alternative roles in the RN as my careers officer said my personality and how I come across shows that I’d be a good fit for the RNAnd? Did you pass? Unlucky pal. Again though, was this an interview for a rating entry or to become an officer? I can understand getting turned away as an officer if you don’t have much experience, or if it was the AA or UGAS scheme, but sounds a little bit harsh if it was was just for a basic ME role.I have been deferred for 3 months due to my fitness and lack of experience in an engineering role. Fair enough mate all the best with that! It’s a bit of a let down but I’m going to apply again in three months and show them that this is definitely what I want to do. It was just a rating entry into ME
