How do I continue with a previous application?

#1
I got to the stage where my medical was going to be sent off to Capita, but decided I would prefer to join the army. Now the army application has taken half a year and my medical has not even been reviewed yet. Can I pick up where I left off? Would that wait be just as long for the RN as it is for the Army? Thanks.

I know its not what you are looking for but the army and RN are hugely different careers and swapping between the two because one application is taking too long seems quite flippant and should be considered seriously, especially since waiting lists for certain roles in the RN can be around 2 years.

Not trying to change your mind, just a word of advice from some one who has been waiting 3 years in total.

I don't take the decision lightly, but it seems there's no point trying to continue my RN if it's still going to take just as long. I'd prefer to join the army for a specific role, but RN has many benefits which I wouldn't mind.

I chose the warfare branch, what kind of roles can you choose to get to Raleigh so quickly?
My submariner application took 6 months to get my date for Raleigh. But don't start till November. This could be due to my age and the role I applied for. As my role requires anyone passing out to be 17 years 2 months. However do not join submarines just to get in to Raleigh faster. You wont get into the Navy with that attitude. The Royal Navy doesn't want to spend thousands to train you just for you to leave due to the tight spaces, lack of daylight and long deployments. However I do understand why you would want to get in fast. You might want to contact your local careers office or call the Royal Navy about resuming your application. I guess it would depend on how long it has been since you pulled out the application process.

Thank you, I agree fully with your advice. Warfare Specialist for surface fleet is a high priority job right now, and I believe that was my first choice role anyway. I'll call them tomorrow.
