Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. I had my first under-age-pint-of-bitter, (it cost 1/3d) in the George on Bury New Road, Prestwich back in the mid sixties, but I never went to church so sorry, can't help.
  2. At the National Archives at Kew:
    Submarine Logs 1941 - ADM 173/17168-17178.
    Submarine Logs 1942 - ADM 173/17730-17736.
    Patrol Reports 1941-42- ADM 199/1814, 1881, 1922.
    Medal Citations 1941-42 - ADM 1/11378, 12320, 12342.
  3. My "History of HM Submarine Losses 1904 to 1971"

Shows Upmost lost 25/11/1042 possibly by depth charge attack by a Italian Destroyer Escort Groppo. Possibly off Marittimo, Tuscany, Italy West Coast. Captain Lt J W D Coombe
