Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Navy submarine joins plane search « Express & Star

A Ministry of Defence spokesman said: "While we do not routinely comment on submarine operations, we can, exceptionally, confirm that HMS Tireless has been tasked to assist in the humanitarian search mission for Flight MH370."We do not comment on the operational capabilities of our submarines."

  2. Tomorrow's headline! RAF tirelessly looking for MF370 :)

  4. Just hope they don't send a single RAF plane.

  5. The only planes they could send is a sentry or voyager, I don't think they would be much good other than another flying goofing platform.

On another note, 216 Tristar squadron disbanded last week. I went to the disbandment do (work paid) and the commanding officer said the squadron standard would be laid up at the fleet air arm museum to celebrate the history of 216 as a RNAS squadron.

  6. I don't think the E-3 can help with underwater searches.

  7. They can fill it with RAF Regiment and binoculars.

  11. For all we rip the piss out of the crabs,I think this is the anniversary of one of bomber commands biggest nights losses over Germany. More than fighter command lost in the battle of Britain.
