Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1.
  2. "HMS St Albans, was on its way to patrol against smuggling and piracy when it received the Mayday"

While serving on an RN frigate in the gulf in the late 1950's we also did patrols against smuggling and piracy but caught nobody.
Has any other serving or RN veteran served on a ship which did catch anybody in the Gulf in the last 50/60 years?

  3. HMS CHATHAM:

HMS PORTLAND (admittedly lets them go again:

    HMS CUMBERLAND (shoots them too):

    I'm sure there are others.
