Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. What does the 9 week course at Raleigh entail? I've just had a mate come back from an ATR and he said it was the hardest 14 weeks of his life: is Raliegh on a par?

In short, if you're not fit before you join, or you do not prepare, you stand a good chance of failing.

The HMS Raleigh 9 week phase one training programme gives a good idea as does the Recruit Diary.

Raleigh takes less than the 14 weeks required by civilians to become soldiers and achieves the transformation from civilian to sailor in 9. Many would interpret that in different ways, but generally sailors only have to be told things once [IMG]. (I jest) However, your phase two training is usually much longer & involved, before you are actually doing the job for which you are trained.

  3. Thanks, that's exactly what I need!
