Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. I'm not sure if I can get a sensible answer to this question on a written internet forum, but I'll give it a shot.

What is the correct pronunciation of Quorn in HMS Quorn? Is it like the vegetarian substitute, or some other way?

  2. Yes, it's pronounced k - w - o - r - n, just like the protein substitute.

It's a Hunt Class ship; the Quorn is a hunt in Leicestershire.

  3. Thanks soleil. :)

Ps Its a good job you said thankyou to Soliel or you would have been invited here http://www.navy-net.co.uk/Forums/viewtopic/t=22219.html

  6. The great thing about quorn is it flexibility. It can take on any form or flavour you like!

NO QUORNY JOKES PLEASE! :D

  7. So is there a HMS Tofu as well?

  8. Yes but it's the flagship of the Japanese Imperial Fleet.

Perhaps we need a series of Scran Class vessels:

    HMS/m Sausage
    HMS/m Corn on the Cob
    HMS/m Gherkin
