Quite right DI. Only Guards that are Paraded for HM the Queen, other members of the Royal Family, Foreign Heads of State, Foreign Sovereigns or personages respesenting them are a 'Guard of Honour'. Guards mounted for other VIPs are just that 'Guards'.

Oh DM have you swallowed 1834 as well as me? Just wanted to start a bit of friendly banter. You are quite correct. So in simple terms if the Guard Officers shout " Guard of Honour" rather than just "Guard" at you before an order, the person infront of you is rather important.

"Guard" = important in somebodies eye

"Guard of Honour" = Oh we are sooooooooo not worthy! :wink:
