  1. Hi everyone I wonder if anyone can help me with my dad's WWll service record. He was on the Calypso when she was torpedoed in June '40 and rescued to HMS Nile (which I believe was a shore base at Alexandria). Later in the June he is shown as on Nile(Aurora ll) until May '41 and then is listed as just Nile again until March '42. I know that HMS Aurora was on Norwegian service when he was listed as Aurora ll so assume that was a shore establishment as part of Nile but can anybody shed more light on that please?

After North Africa he went back to Drake for a few months and then served in HMS Palomares at Salerno and Anzio.

    Thanks for any interest.
