Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. The wreck was stumbled upon 77 years after it disappeared by a group of Polish divers who were looking for one of their nation's lost submarines in the area.

A 3D radar scan showing the craft perfectly intact in 308ft of water has confirmed it to be HMS Narwhal which was attacked by the Luftwaffe during the Battle of Britain in July 1940.

The submarine left it's base in Blyth, Northumberland, tasked with the job of laying mines off German-occupied Norway.

BTW This Sunday, at the Embankment S/M Annual Memorial Parade and Service, Wreaths will be laid and a Roll Call made of all of our Submarines still out on patrol...

    RIP & RESURGAM
