  1. I stayed at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Liverpool last weekend (11th). i was surprised to see in a display case in the foyer one very neatly folded (in a triangle) ships ensign with a card conferring 'As flown from HMS Liverpool during the Libyan conflict 2011' - presented by the Captain to the Hotel Manager.

I know there has always been very strong links with the city but given that the new Museum of Liverpool is only 600 meters away and in direct line of sight you would have thought that would have been a more appropriate place to donate the ensign rather than a commercial organisation or one of the museums in the Royal Dockyard.
