Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Anyone out there serve on HMS Griffin in 1940 when she rescued survivors (including my Dad) from the topedoed merchant ship ss Mohamed Ali el-Kebir? I already know a good deal about this incident (see my website www. mohamed.ali. el-kebir.freewebspace.com) but any new information would be much appreciated.

  2. Think that may be a bit of a long shot--- Griffin [H31] was transferred to the Canadian Navy in 1943.

Also the vets who were serving at that time [1940] are getting a bit long in the tooth by now. Those that are still around that is.
