Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Were the Commander in Command Portland to be killed in enemy action she would be the most senior female RN sailor ever to so perish. So far as I can determine a 1/O Madeleine Bayard WRNS was the most senior to date. She lost her life along with 368 others when HMS Fidelity (D57) was sunk by U435 on Dec 30 1942. There were just 10 survivors.Fidelity, a SSV, was proceeding to French East Indies for clandestine duties. Most of the crew could speak some French

Jacko. Does being a c0ck come naturally to you or do you have to work at it?
  3. Jacko, I'm betting you're a 'glass half empty' sort of chap.

I bet you have made her day - wee hee a record if I snuff it in action!
  4. Hmmm, the phrase "first officer" was used ... hmmm .... that equated to Lieutenant Commander .....

NORMAN! - Gotcha! And can I claim my £5?
