    royal navy records on him stopped and did not give any indication as to what happened to the crew

  4. Just found this board during a search for "HMS Fantome". My grandfather served on HMS Fantome prior to being handed over to the Australians. I have no information except the stories he used to tell. I estimate that he served on her in 1906-07. I too am looking for any information on her, specifically records from that time period. I am somewhat mystified as to where to start. Any help would be appreciated.

  10. Ralph W. Johnson...unless he used an assumed name, possibly Roberts or Howard.

    He was probably an AB. I know he got sick and that caused him to leave the ship.
