Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. I have read various notes on the Daring class and few mention which type will be carried, will it be a 815NAS Lynx or a 829NAS Merlin?
  2. Good question well said.

I can't find anything on the Type 45 website :?

My money is on Blue Thunder or even Airwolf.
  4. Which one is cheaper to operate?

There's your answer in New Liebors new and improved RN.

I think Blue Thunder would be as it is not hangered in a rock in the desert. Must be a nightmare getting parts for a helo that doesn't exist
  6. Could you speculate that given the T45 doesn't carry harpoons that it would have to be a Lynx Mk8 to allow it to carry Sea Skuas for anti ship capability?
  7. So 01C Harpoon Store is a myth then?
  8. I thought there were provisions, but no plans to fit a couple of quadrouple harpoon launchers. I'd love to hear otherwise! Is this the same case with Phalanx?

Good buzz: Klingon 'Bird of Prey' (with cloaking capability)

  10. THis is the plan, but keep it under your hat…

  11. Meccano?
  12. Naaah, surely this would be more cost efficient?

  13.  Bloody hell !!Waspie and me are back in business  ASI2 range 6000 yards time in flight 32 secs Luvley Jubley, T10K fire!! Judy Judy Judy

  14. Good ol' AS12, resulted in more than a few soiled Johnnie Gaucho undercrackers in it's time.
  15. Oh dear what have I started
  16. She's "Fit to Receive" or "Fitted For But Not With" at the moment, with some sort of SSGW fit - Harpoon or 'other' - a future aspiration.
  17. Erm, I made that up! :D

  18. Cut the wires before I get too exited!!!

  19. THey should call the 45's the 'Fitted For But Not With' Class.
  20. So would that make the class "FFBNW" instead of "DD(G)"? My brackets around the G.
