Royal Navy frigate HMS Chatham will make her final visit to a UK port when the ship sails into North Shields on Thursday (January 20) for the start of a routine four-day visit to Tyneside.
The ship will berth at Northumbrian Quay, North Shields at around 2.45pm and during her stay, the ship’s commanding officer, Commander Simon Huntingdon, plans to call on a number of elected officials and other local organisations.
Thereafter, the ship returns to her base port of Devonport in Plymouth for the final time at the end of January. This will be followed by her official de-commissioning ceremony in February.
Unfortunately, the ship will not be open to visitors on this occasion...
