HMS Brilliant documentary (1995)

Hi Littlejoe55

I'd gladly make you a copy - no charge. It was recorded directly from the television to video tape for me (I was away at sea at the time) and I later copied it to DVD. The quality isn't 100% but its not too bad considering it's 20 years old - it's perfectly watchable. Send me your address via a personal message and I'll start copying it! I seem to be the only person in the world who has a complete set of episodes!

Pete
Hi there,

Am I able to buy a copy if you still make them at all? I watched HMS Briliant when I was at school and that made my decision to join the mob. There is an episode on Youtube but I really miss the whole series.

I appreciate this post is a few years old now but I am hoping someone can help.
Thanks

Pete

Hi Pete

No problem! I'll gladly make you a copy. PM me your address and I'll make a start on it for you. It will probably take me a couple of weeks - and there's no charge.

@Guzzman Would you be willing to send me a copy too please? I am going to get this introduced to the current bunch of Phase 2 trainees during the dogs.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Crash!

No problem! It will be a pleasure! Just PM me with the address you want it sent to and I'll make a start on it. Will take me a week or so to do.

Going to educate the trainees in what the Navy was like in 'ye olden dayes' when Nelson was a lad? Watched the first part of the new series on HMS Duncan this week - a big difference between that and 'HMS Brilliant'!

Cheers

Hello mate :)

May I request a copy, also, if that wouldn't be too much hassle for you? I'll PM you my details right now. Thank you so much, God bless you. :) Happy Christmas.

Hi

I will gladly make you a copy. There is no charge - I don't do it to make money! Most of the copies I make go to people who actually appeared in the series or who were inspired to join the Navy as a result of watching it. I only normally make one or two copies a year so it's not a problem.

I have received you PM and noted your details.

I will try and get it done before Christmas but it may be a while before I can post it to you. I'll let you know when I'm posting it. A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you too.

Ahh, thank you, you're very kind :) - there's absolutely no rush at all, take it easy, enjoy Christmas.

Just to let you know that your recordings are done. I will get them packaged up over the next few days and then take them to the Post Office as soon as the New Year celebrations are over. I'll let you know the day I post them. Hope you had a good Christmas.

Hi There - just came across this thread. I've also been looking to get hold of a copy of the series for ages. Don't suppose you are still able to produce copies please? I would be willing to pay or cover any costs incurred. Thanks for considering.

@Navy31 -Your man doesn't post much at RR but @Guzzman was 'Last seen Dec 17, 2019' so you miught strike lucky
As above, the addition of the @ symbol forrard of his User Name could gain his attention/reply. depending on his ermm - unknown personal preferences...

[IMHO In general terms every 'Guzz Man' equates with copious leg-fulls of Cider plus at least 5 x Oggies per day.

...add Westo Travelling Time & Rail strikes etc etc = Best of luck.]

Firstly a general reply addressed to all members of this site. I may not POST much but that doesn't mean that I don't regularly follow the words of wisdom contributed by the other reprobates on here. I could make contributions on many topics but a). I'm a boring old sod and b). I start ranting and foaming at the mouth. Nurse says that following RR is not good for my blood pressure - I'm only just starting to calm down after the Brexit debate!

As to my personal preferences, well the less said about them the better! ;)

And there is nothing I like better than relaxing with a nice pint of scrumpy and an oggie. Though where I live these days it's bloody hard to find a decent oggie. I do not class that Ginsters crap as 'decent'.

And now to turn to Navy31. I can make you a copy of the series. There is no charge. As always I should stress that it isn't a top quality recording. It was recorded on video from the television for me while I was at sea. I later transferred it to DVD - and the original recording was made 26 years ago! But having made all my usual excuses, the recordings are perfectly watchable. PM me with your address and I'll make you a copy.

I still find my best Oggies are made by Mrs S, all shop brought Oggies give me heart burn, far to greasy.

You're lucky Sumo! My 'beloved' can burn water, so no chance of a decent oggie!

There were a few specialist oggie shops that opened a few years ago that sold a reasonable oggie but they all seemed to vanish after about five minutes. And how places like Gregs can get away with selling what they call a pasty is beyond me! They should be done under the Trades Descriptions Act!

I can feel the old blood pressure rising again! Nurse, where are my tablets?
