Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. How long before HMS becomes HMCG with the sort of Flotilla we're currently protected by in Gibraltar. A year? Longer?
  2. Long after you've expired you dullard.
  3. Think I'd prefer the 'Coastal Command' option.

    Have I bit?
  4. Will everyone get issued with those big " The sea shall not have them " white roller neck jumpers.
  5. That was Air Sea Rescue.
  6. No It was Coastal Forces you fukctard!

Is that tape recorded message playing up again?
  9. Yup it sure is he's got two threads going and multitasking. 8)
  10. 'fraid not it was the RAF's Air Sea Rescue. I recall Dirk Bogarde ,who played a Flight Sergeant in the film , visiting The China Fleet Club in 1954 whilst the film was showing there.
  11. It's called "Coastal Forces Rig" fukc off and die.
  12. Then there is a memory disconnect somewhere - Coastal Forces definitely wore the submariners (off)white woolly pully and I don't care what Dirk Bogarde wore when he went to see a film!
  13. The point was--The Sea shall not have them. That was the RAF's Air Sea Rescue Service motto. That they wore submainers white Guernseys is neither hear nor there. Coastal Command they certainly were not part of, but the navy did train them
