This picture was taken with a 2100 megapixel camera. Good quality retail cameras are often in the 8 to 14 megapixel range. 2100 megapixel cameras are not sold to the public but are being installed in strategic locations.

The camera can identify a face among a multitude of people. Point your computer’s cursor in the mass of people and double-click a few times (or 'finger-spread' on a touch-screen device).

Scary sharp . . . you are being watched!

Scary stuff indeed ... and very Big Brother(ish)

Friend of mine is a camera operator for the local CCTV ... Plod in Ports / Southsea regularly use their services in Southsea Common area and they can watch people "misbehavin" in parked car on Southsea sea front ... even to the extent of easily reading registration numbers of cars and can zoom in on a face which is nigh on photo quality.... The camera is 5 miles away on top of a very tall building on the Isle of Wight!

be afraid .... be very afraid!

You'd be surprised what you can see through a modern periscope when it's switched to high power.
