Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. I don'y know what there problem is? Pompey has the inferstructure and avalible jetty/basin space for another preserved warship to become part of the heritage dockyard

  2. Isn't it a shame that Plymouth can't get its act together and have an historic warship area like Pompey?

  3. I agree, It has the space

    Didn’t SCYLLA count then?

    P-O-L

I'm wondering if "the last warship to be built at Devonport Dockyard etc" is some kind of lazy journalistic shorthand for "the last warship to be be built at Devonport Dockyard and also in a position to be installed in a museum if wished". ?

That reminds me, I do have some footage of the Scylla taken where she rests now. I'll see if I can dig it out.

Pompey has the space, Plymouth hasn't, they should stop dripping and campaign for space to be found for the future, not to get a ship with nowhere to put it.
