"Two young mothers used their Navy first aid training to save the life of a woman who was pulled from the River Tamar’s freezing waters.

Anna Fryer and Lisa Fowle were waiting for a ferry home from a night out at about 2.50am on Saturday when they saw the woman in the water beside the Torpoint Ferry slipway in Devonport.

“It was surreal and obviously you want to help,” said 32-year-old mum Anna, a Leading Hand in the Royal Navy."
