Help with old WW1 photo

Chaps, I’ve been asked by a mate to help with this photo, particularly the badge worn by the matelot on the left. It looks a bit like the swordfish badge worn by German U-Boat crews in WW2, can anyone shed any light on this badge and the signallers trade badge he also wears. I’m an ex-pongo so apologies for any lack of knowledge of the Andrew.1FE6704E-CA87-4F32-99F3-0A5B90BA0B3E.jpeg

He's a signalman so you're correct in that.

I think the if you mean the mark on his collar, it looks to me like a blemish on the photo as it's brighter than the rest of the photo., No badges were, or have been, worn on the collar.

His trade badge is on his right arm, the crossed flags, He was an Ordinary Signalman (known as a Bunting) i think the marks on his left arm are the Pongos fingers.

I agree with Wrecks that the "swordfish" is most likely a flaw in the photograph. However, is the collar dog on the Pongo's uniform the ANZAC badge?

Definately the ANZAC ‘rising sun‘ badge, he is also wearing the Australian pattern service dress tunic which differed in quite a lot of details compared to the British tunic.
