If that is the case then in the 3 years I've been out the opinion has done a complete 180!! I'd suggest that in any serious discussion were guys are made aware of the differences (and anyone that thinks otherwise is deluding themselves) they would most definitely not be indifferent, particularly any of the 00s of guys that have been through DST, SEME, etc  As to more in common with the inf, that may well be the case but that doesn't mean that they want to become them. Quite simply the Corps as we know it would cease to exist under Army Opcom. As to the Navy fighting for us, as long as they have the bodies to put on the amphib fleet (thereby keeping X nos of Capt, Commodore and Rear Admiral's slots) would they really care who owns said bodies?sgtpepperband said:Fink: I have worked with RMs in the past (and am currently serving in a Commando unit) and the general consensus at grass roots level is one of indifference - of course they are extremely proud of their heritage, but most RMs I know don't really care who they work for; they have more in common with Army units than Naval ones, to be honest...![]()
