gronk board (kinda)

creakin

Badgeman
I realise this is my first posting and that this is really about gronk boards but..........does anyone remembers "dial a f**k". For those who don't know - when young girlies in foreign ports phone the ship asking to take matelots out/home.

Remember 'dial a sailor' very well. Used to be great in the 'States' for many a grippo and good time. Not used as much these days though.

yeah bringham havent heard 'grippo' for some time now....have great memories of a 'grippo' whilst in australia. was out there on a hks boat

Yes had some great up-homers on NZ. Very friendly and accomodating, are Kiwi females, probably because their menfolk have a morbid interest in sheep

Which boat were you on, was it peacock in darwin in 95?

Late 80's on Arethusa DWEO got grippo from a rich tart in a posh car in the states, went out a couple of times and loved gobbing off about her. Anyway, one night during the dogs she turns up on the gangway to pick up said grunter only too see a muscle bosun killick chef throwing some weights around in the hangar, so she just took him instead, didn't even let him get changed.
Mere mention of that dit was alwayd good for a sense of humour failure from DWEO for the rest of the deployment.

Wasn't just birds after sailors - in Mayport we ran the same system (early 90s) and a gang of bikers turned up having been promised a pair of sailors! The sailors went with them and had the best week of their lives apparently, came back with tales to make your hair stand on end, and bike gang tattoos!
