Great Runs Ashore

Seeing the Virgin Islands reminded me - day running from St Croix for 2 1/2 months 0600-1800, with one watch left inboard daily to accommodate the trials team, and cruise ships on t'other side of the jetty most nights. Every 10 days, ELWE in Roosevelt Roads - well, someone had to do it !!
Definitely Cardiff - if you couldn't trap there, there was something wrong with you. (See "Noisiest shags" for further details)

Adelaide

Sydney

But, if today’s Australia is anything like the way it is portrayed in ‘Neighbours’ then, dear friends,
you really have gone down hill fast, and completely lost the plot.

Not in any particular order

And I also have to echo LSA Dirty ... Exmouth

and yes, I know there's more than 5

I meant I was on the frigate EXMOUTH - mind you, we visited there before we paid off in 1966, and had a brilliant run.

Brest

Got to agree with you there mate, the ******** of the world. I've seen some bad fights all over the world, but I've never seen so many in any port as in Brest. A proper hellhole, in fact as old as I am now if I was to go there on a ship I'd probably stay onboard.

Llantwit Major????? THere is nothing there really! What made it such a good run?

For various reasons:

1. Wilmington NC
2. St Helena
3. Cardiff (running theme here)
4. Hong Kong
5. Leicester (Affiliated town)
