just watched one of the best films I have ever seen, "pierrepoint"

about the life of Albert Pierrepoint, one of the last hangmen in britain, if you havnt seen it, search for it now. If you have, what did you reckon?
it was the one with timothy spall in it.

"It is I who have faced them last, young lads and girls, working men and grandmothers.

I have been amazed to see the courage with which they walk into the unknown.

It did not deter them then and it had not deterred them when they committed what they were convicted for. All the men and women I have faced at that final moment convince me that in what I have done I have not prevented a single murder."

Albert Pierrepoint, Chief Executioner 1934 - 1954

Have a gander here

About the film, which "is" a good film

He was correct there, and what about the poor beggars who were innocent?

That`s why I`m against Capital Punishment.
But I do believe that Life Imprisonment should be exactly that Life!
Without any visitors - but the PC tree-hugging feckers would scream human rights
