Grandfathers service history records..Norway ww2

  1. Hi,

    Im trying to gain some information on my Grandfathers service history. He served in the Royal Navy from approx 1939-46, I think he served on HMS Cardiff,Zealous and Cabot-and apparently he was on a major operation in the North Atlantic in 1942 (Norway) at some point?

    Im aware that the national archive dont hold any records post 1924, and i've been informed of several different addresses whom may hold records, can anyone give me a definitive answer please?

    He was a rating and stoker by trade i believe.

  2. Granny probably served with him. He's rumoured to have retired from the Andrew on a full naval pension in 1951! :biggrin:
